Second Annual Hampden Meadows Zoetrope Animation Competition

Welcome to the
Second Annual HMS
Zoetrope Animation Awards!

For the zoetrope animation lesson, fifth graders were given four weeks to experiment with animation and to create a zoetrope "masterpiece." All the while they learned about the history and relevance of animation. This lesson was part of a unit on animation, which included work with praxinoscopes.

For this competition, the top 10 finalist animations were chosen for clarity, complexity, and originality. Additionally, a new category was added this year: Most Beautiful.
The top 50 finalists received certificates of recognition and the top 3 finalists received actual zoetropes!

Congratulations to all fifth grade artists!
